Animate! Raleigh is 3 days of anime, animation, cosplay, and more presented by GalaxyCon.

You can expect entertainment, celebrities, Q&As, video and tabletop gaming, panels, costume contests, cosplay wrestling, and more exraordinary fandom than you could dream of.

2. Celebrate MLK Day

3. Check out the North Carolina Vintage Bazaar

When: January 18 and 19, 2025

The North Carolina Vintage Bazaar is a huge thrift and vintage convention. Embrace the cobwebs while perusing great second-hand finds from vendors across the country. Expect funky fresh t-shirts, dresses, sweaters, jackets, pants, accessories, and other delightfully dreadful detritus of decades past.

Tickets can be purchased online. General Admission one-day tickets are $10, two-day tickets are $18. Early admission tickets get you in an hour before general admission and cost $15 for one day or $27 for two days. Kids under twelve are free with a parent.

4. Go to CINCH World’s Toughest Rodeo

When: January 26, 2025

Where: Lenovo Center, 1400 Edwards Mill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607

CINCH World’s Toughest Rodeo features Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, and Barrel Racing.

At the complimentary pre-show, fans are welcomed into the arena for an hour to mingle with contestants and special entertainers for autographs and photos. During behind-the-chutes tours, fans can interact with the animals. Enjoy free pony rides, engaging games, and the chance to capture a photo sitting on a bull – creating lasting memories at the Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo.

During Triangle Restaurant Week, participating restaurants offer special three-course menu options and fixed pricing. This is a great opportunity to indulge or over-indulge in the area’s finest cuisine!

January is the coldest month in Raleigh, so it’s the perfect time for some winter sports but be sure to bundle up and be prepared to bruise your butt! THE RINK presented by UNC Health is a winter wonderland featuring a natural ice skating rink with stunning views of the Raleigh skyline.

Skater admission is $15 and includes skate rental, non-skater admission is $6. Two different Igloo Lounge packages are available for $304 and $400 and include skater admission for 8 people.

The Triangle area is home to a number of competitive men’s and women’s college teams, but NC State’s Wolfpack basketball is the one to watch. Don’t even try to disagree.
